The ability to change the clipping distance for the camera. Sometimes I just want to get really up close to make some accurate clicks

edit: I figured it out, it is just the editor being dumb, from the bottom angle it looks fine

Chrome somehow broke, I am using the Chrome Basic_ALP, The cutout is set like shown in the picture. When roughness is set to 0.7, it looks perfectly fine from all angles

I am trying to make customizable colors for my motorcycle, but on the main object putting on a mapping called M1_body works, but on a subobject it doesn't, even when it is M2_body

I updated my editor from W45 to W51, but ingame it shows W50. Is it just that the number was forgotten? Or is it something else?

Quote from Scawen :Where is the centre (origin) of the handlebar subobject?

It was in the default spot

But now I moved it to here, closer to the actual steering wheel mesh

Now it is better, but it still needs a little bit of adjustment

Quote from Scawen :Do people often change the input wav?

I remember in early days of testing we used a champagne cork sound that worked quite well.

You can save or load the input wav (to engine folder) by clicking the S/L button near the top of the engine sound editor.

I wonder how much that wav affects the output sound. I guess the champagne pop sound worked well as it had a good range of frequencies in the short sample.

I dont know if people change it much, but from the little bit of screwing around I have done, the engine wav makes a LOT of difference

Hello, I have noticed with the bike, the steering is reversed from 7kmh until around 14kmh, what could be the reason for that? In the video my gas was at 100% all the time, and steering was around the center, not being moved

A Car Based On The Nissan March Superturbo

I am making car based on the Nissan March Superturbo, The body will be similar, but without any badges and I will slightly modify the body too. Right now I am modelling the rear end. This car will take a long time, because I want to make it good, and it is my first actual model. LFS doesnt have a supercharger option, so it will be made using a fast spooling turbo. Right now it is at full boost (1 bar) around 3500rpm.

Quote from R-to :Question to Scawen.

We are really worried about this if we have to rent server for live for speed in the future. We have here in finland really high quality hosting server where our players can have 0 ping! Our GRIP Masters and SLADI Masters servers are the one off the best in the LFS Public server list and now we are afraid that we have to use in future laggy grappy servers! Give us channge to use high quality servers where players with good connections can have the best possible ping.

Check how good the ping will be, then complain if it is laggy

Quote from rane_nbg :The hosting will not be for free, but as Scawen said it will be a quarter of the current lfs hosting price and that is for sure much cheaper than any of the current alternative host providers, which is great.

He said that it will be free for simpler servers, like when you dont need much insim, 24/7 uptime, etc. If you want full insim, 24/7 uptime, the ability to save MPRs, layouts, etc, you will need to pay

Quote from Bose321 :That's great to hear. I was wondering, is there like a limit for the with and height of a car? Or, a model like you showed with 9 XFG sub-objects? For example, when you drive a car that's 200m wide or something, it could be used just to mess with people and dick around. Or would such mods simply not be approved?

I haven't yet fully checked the videos, but is it also possible to create a touring car for example? With 6 wheels, or something like a truck? That would open up some new ideas and possible racing classes for truck racing.

The suggestion for a link with Automation is also great to check in the future btw. In BeamNG there are loads of fun cars that are created with Automation and then exported.

I think cars which are 200m wide and stuff wouldnt be approved, if they are approved, most servers would disallow them

Quote from r3zp3k7 :
But we should keep in mind that this is a racing simulator and after every restart, you are able to save a new replay.
So the idea is you save every race, its not made to work with Cruise servers, but why not?
We like to save a lot of moments in a cruise server (which don't restart) same goes to race servers, would be much better, if we could make more than one replay for 1 race.

And maybe in longer races, something happens in the middle of it, am not going to search thru the whole replay for it.

Quote from r3zp3k7 :There is no fix for this, however there is a way to save a replay more than once without reconnecting, the steps require minimum basic operation system knowledge.

To save an replay more than once, you have to do this:

1. Go in LFS/data/mpr folder.
2. Copy temp.mpr file.
3. Paste it in the same folder (LFS/data/mpr) and rename it however you want the replay to be named.

Thats it. You just saved the replay, if you need to save it further, you can repeat the steps. Not the best option, but the only one possible right now.

All credits go to P V L, he told me about this.

I tried a similar thing, but I somehow didnt think of copying the existing file, thank you
